1.  Centre (over 2 pleats). Secure the thread on the back of the fabric. Bring the needle to the front at A, on the left hand side of pleat 2.	2.  Take the needle from right to left through the tops of pleats 2 and 3 (B to A). Leave the needle in the fabric.	3.  Work an eight wrap bullion knot.
4.  Outer Petals (over four pleats). Secure the thread on the back of the fabric. Bring it to the font at C, on the left hand side opf pleat 1.	5.  Take the needle from right to left through the tops of pleats, 4,3,2 and 1 (D to C). Leave the needle in the fabric.	6.  Work a twelve wrap bullion knot. Manipulate it to lie above the first knot.
7.  Re-emerge at C. Again, take the needle from right to left through the tops of pleats 4, 3, 2 and 1 (D to C). Leave the needle in the fabric.	8.  Work a twelve wrap bullion knot as before. Manipulate it to lie below the first knot. End off the thread. Completed bullion knot bud.
