Make a foundation of evenly-spaced Straight Stitches. Bring a new thread up at A, and weave through the foundation without piercing the fabric. Use a blunt needle such as a tapestry needle for the weaving. Wrap around the first bar, ending at B. Insert the needle under the same bar at C, pointing down, so that the thread passes under the needle. Repeat down the ladder.
