This stitch makes a complicated-looking fringed braid.

First, make a loose Staright Stitch, bringing the needle out directly beneath the start tf the stitch (Step 1). Next, loop through the first stitch without piercing the fabric, with the thread under the needle (Step 2). End the stitch by taking a large bite out of the fabric, in line with the previous stitches (Step 3). You are now in position to make the next stitgn (Step 4).
