The Double Seed Stitch is similar to the Seed Stitch in that it covers a surface with tiny Straight Stitches. However, with this stitch you reinforce with a tiny Backstitch, in the same holes as the first stitch. This raises the stitch, giving it the effect of a tiny dot, more solid than a French Knot.

You can also stitch the Double Seed Stitch in a line, which makes a delicate dotted line.
