BRAID STITCH
This is a very complicated stitch, good for borders or curved lines.

All stitching is done between two parallel lines. Start by making a loop with your fingers, and stitching the needle as shown in Step 1. Before pulling the needle through, pull the loop tight against the needle (Step 2). After pulling the needle through the fabric, you are ready to begin the next stitch to the left (Step 3).

Hints:
  • Keep the stitches small and close together. The diagrams above are shown with the stitches much looser for clarity.
  • This stitch is best worked with a tightly twisted thread, like perle cotton, rather than a softer and looser thread.
